Riverbench Vineyard, Santa Maria Valley – 13.4% abv
Nose (aromas): white flower blossom, fresh pear, lemon rind, pineapple essence
Flavor (palette): lemon-lime, salinity, white peach, driving acidity
Winemaker’s Notes: Drink slightly chilled! This wine’s mouthfeel is a marriage between viscosity and firm acidity. With its fresh aromas and flavors, it pairs well with anything acidic or savory, from oven baked white fish with lemon beurre blanc sauce, to sage butter and mushroom risotto with freshly shaved parmesan. Let this Pinot Gris amaze even the harshest of critics!
Ageing Potential: Now – 2020
Additional Notes: Berry color on the vine varies. Pinot Gris is darker than most white wine grapes, from pinky purple to almost as dark as Pinot Noir in hotter sites. Inspiration for this wine comes from Tasmania, Australia, where Chase got his first experience working with the grape.
