2016 Quello Grande

Blend: 47% Sangiovese – Dogged Vine Vineyard, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon – Riata Oaks Vineyard, 22% Merlot – Carhartt Vineyard, 5% Petit Verdot – Curtis Vineyard.

Nose (aromas): dark chocolate, sweet tobacco leaf, blackberry reduction

Flavor (palate): black cherry, herbal underbrush, baking spices

Winemaker’s Notes: This beautiful wine has it all: dark fruit, acidity, and lingering tannin that moves into a long finish. Although still very young, it’s refined, yet drinkable character will impress even the harshest of critics. Pair this wine with anything from fresh caprese salad with a wild mushroom pappardelle to braised lamb shank over a bed of homemade polenta. This Sangiovese blend will have you saying “Mama Mia(!)” in no time!

Ageing Potential: Now – 2027+
