2017 Estate Petite Sirah

Carhartt Vineyard – 14.8% abv

Nose (aromas): dark plum ganache, coffee bean, sweet cedar

Flavor (palate): black raspberry, mexican chocolate, sweet tobacco with a layered and textured finish

Winemaker’s Notes: Although Petite Sirah often packs a serious punch, this wine’s fresh acidity gives it an elegance and balance that helps it pair with many different dishes. We love P.S. with leg of lamb with a rosemary crust, classic cassoulet, or even New Orleans gumbo. The more flavors, the better!

Ageing Potential: Now-2030+

Additional Info: This wine was aged in barrel 18 months, and now has been in bottle for a year. Historically for us, Petite Sirah has needed that time in bottle to show the rich, intricate layers that make up this wine. If possible, save this beautiful wine for an additional six months – 2 years and watch it truly unfold! Also, it loves to be decanted for 30 plus minutes before drinking!
